How much protein do you actually need?

I get this question all the time.

“How much protein should I be eating every day?”

Truthfully, in many cases Googling this is not your friend as you will end up more confused than when you started!

Some people say:

1g protein per 1lb body weight

…some say way less

So, how do we know what to do?

Let’s just take a very common sense approach to this and just start here:

If each meal was comprised of mostly lean protein and veggies, this is a really great start.

In addition, I recommend most people take one protein shake per day as this is the easiest way to get between 25-50 g extra of protein.

If you are eating 3 meals per day and one shake of mainly protein, this will move you along the right direction.

If you would like some recommendations on what protein shake to take, please just reply to this email as I only recommend a very small amount (many are loaded with a ton of crap!)
