Nothing gets me more fired up that an attention grabbing headline that is nothing but B.S.
I came across one the other day that I HAVE to share.
“14 Exercises You Should Never Do After 50” is awful for many reasons but let me just point out a few (and this is before I even read the article).
#1- ‘Always and Never’ statement rarely ever turn out well. To say someone at a certain age can never do something is just poor form.
#2- All exercise is not created equal. Squatting for example can be done with good form or poor form…so bad squats at any age are bad.
#3- All 50 year olds are not created equal. I know many 50 year olds in great shape who can do many of the exercises listed in the article. And, I know many 30 year olds that should not be doing anything of the sort due to the their body type, activity level, and injury history.
In the end, it’s most important to simply be around people you trust and can get good, solid advice from.
Have people in your corner that you can run crap like this so that they can tell you it’s wrong :).
