As you all know, I love my job. It’s all about the people I meet and the ways we help.
I love getting updates from all of you when you check in at my desk- how your trip was, how your kids are, how the new car is, how the dog feels…
I always say that people like to tell their story. It’s true. We all do.
In the office it all starts out with a simple conversation starter and that’s “Tell me what’s going on?”. From there, all parties involved – the client, myself, and Dr. Justin determine what the next steps are on the path to the best help we can possibly give. Good listening on our part means great results for our clients. You all know how we roll here at S2M.
But how can we all be better listeners? How can we take more time letting others tell their story and how can we make more time to listen to our family, our friends, our co-workers, our communities?
I get that sometimes it’s the wrong time. We are all busy.. Our kids can be annoying. There’s no time to talk to mom today. The boss calls a meeting on a Friday at 5. But if we all tried a little harder, what difference could we be making?
It’s not that difficult, and we could be making someone’s day, someone’s week and even more drastically, someone’s life.
