Check out our most recent success story from Lisa! Lisa is a member of Endorphin CrossFit who came to see us after a shoulder injury. Needless to say, she is back in action.
Here is Lisa’s story:
“I originally hurt my shoulder in August, but like most people, I basically ignored the pain and continued to work out as best I could.
Initially, I figured I should just take a few weeks off and ‘rest’ which would make my arm feel better.
The good news: My shoulder did feel better when I rested.
The bad news: Once I returned to CrossFit, my shoulder hurt just as bad. Actually, it was worse than before.
At this point, I could not bench press or overhead press, which basically cut out half of my workouts.
Finally, I was frustrated enough and had Dr. Justin evaluate my shoulder.
In order to do this, he began not only treating my shoulder, but also educating me on proper alignment and positioning so that I was not putting my shoulder in harms way.
Additionally, he ENCOURAGED me to continue to exercise but made sure we could modify the exercise appropriately so I could still workout making sure we did not hinder my progress.
After a few weeks, I really started to feel a difference and now really understand my body so much better.
I am now back to CrossFit with no pain and the knowledge to keep me that way!
